I selected this bunk bed among similar items because the verticals (the support for the top bed) looked more sturdy and indeed it is. It took some time to assemble but it is ok, this is not like assembling a desk. I noticed some manufacturing defects but not critical and does not affect the product functionality. For instance, there are some small pieces where the opening for the screw was in the opposite side of the piece of wood, that was something relatively insignificant and it was inside a drawer so it is almost nothing. In other instance, specifically the horizontal pieces that surround the top bed, the wood holes are wider at the surface to allow the head of the screw to be hidden, at least one of them was done in the wrong side of the wood... and no, I didn't assemble it in the wrong position, that specific piece only fits in one position. All in all I am happy with this purchase and the kids love it too.This is a nice looking bed. IKEA furniture has way better fit and finish quality.Overall this was easy to assemble and took me 1.5 hours by myself. That time included having to redrill some holes not correctly drilled from the factory (holes for threaded inserts not drilled deep enough). Luckily I had the right size bit. Also one of the threaded inserts was defective (no threads) so I’ll have to go through my bag of leftover IKEA hardware to replace it.The instructions are fun and you have to actually think. Some hardware is incorrectly labled in the instructions.Everything was packaged nicely and nothing was damaged in shipping.I think this is a nice bunkbed set yet it took over 6 hours to put it together! I didn’t realize I had to pay 150.00 delivery fee. So yes, I like the set but I wouldn’t purchase this again unless the shipping cost was far less. I would have returned it based on that had I not had to hire in help to do it. Already unpacked and ready for setup and no possible way to send it back. I expected the company to at least remove 100.00 off of shipping yet never heard backGreat and sturdy bed for the price. I paid additional for assembly which was by far the best money spent being that I refused to do it myself, lol. It took about an 1 1/2 - 2 hours for 2 assemblers to put this bed together. Money well spent. I bought 3 memory foam gel mattresses 5" and they fit perfectly. The kids love this trundle bunk bed and so do I. I would definitely recommend and if you can, get warranty and assemblers. Save yourself stress and a headache.I would definitely suggest this bed. Made sturdy and has plenty of room for anyone needing a larger size bunk bed.If you need to get more space for one room this is the way to go. I used memory foam/gel mattresses and it worked out perfectly.You get what you pay for with this. Not very sturdy. Ok for little kids but wouldn't recommend for older bigger kids. ?
