I was using several big beach towels as a crate liner because my dog likes to fluff them up and rearrange them into a nest, which she couldn't do with a pillow/crate liner. However, she recently started moving them aside and "digging" at the bottom of the plastic crate (this is a Vari-Kennel, not a wire crate). It seemed to happen at 4:00 AM every day! So, I decided to get a liner/pillow on the theory that it would stay put and wouldn't bunch up like the towels, thereby thwarting her desire to dig through the bottom. This fits the bill -- I still put a big beach towel on top so that she can "nest", but she can't get the mat to bunch up. I have only had it a few days, so I haven't washed it yet, but I really like the fact that the cover is removable so that I don't have to put the whole mat into the washer and dryer.I loved the quality and fit perfectly in the crate. My foster shelter dog was smelly from his Meds even after a bath so I threw the whole pad into the wash. It came out lumpy. DEFINITELY REMOVE THE COVER FOR WASHING in a washing machine and find a way to clean the inner cushion another way. Otherwise happy with this product.Would be better if the cover was waterproof. My puppy peed on it the first night and we had to wash the cover and inside filling. Not too big of a deal but having the cover water resistant or water proof would be awesome.A soft and comfy bed for our two kids. Our two dachshunds sleep in a crate or kennel at night and the old pad was getting thin. We wanted something a little softer and more comfortable for themWhen I first got this bed I thought it was going to provide a comfortable bed for my two kids. After about a week the padding started to flatten out. I washed the pillow was that a mistake the material which I would guess is polyester balled up and was all but impossible to flatten out again.I would not recommend this to anyone it is poor quality save your money. I am reluctant to give it a one star ratingMy biggest gripe with this crate blanket is the stated thickness. It states its 2" thick. Its not even remotely close! It's maybe 3/4" thick giving it the benefit of the doubt at that!! I should have sent it back after unboxing it, but I let my dog use it anyway.I got this bed/mat for my 10 week old Chug (half Chihuahua, half Pug) and he is a chewer! He destroyed a bed I got him in a couple days. This bed/mat is well made. It has a rubber like grip bottom that grips the bottom of his crate perfectly. He likes the mat, both to sleep on as well as chew on. I'll update if things change, but this is a good purchase!Love it, but didn't pay attn to washing directions and I ruined it by washing in warm waterDisappointing purchase. The stuffing is EXTREMELY thin and bunches to one side very quickly. I would recommend avoiding this product and look for something firmer, possibly a solid foam interior. This is just not going to add any comfort for your pup's time in their crate.
