Bed appears to be well made and works well. A major appeal to this bed is that it will get pretty low to the floor; thus reducing the risk of injury from a fall. If you don't need the wheels to move the bed, not installing them will even get you a couple more inches closer to the floor.Motors are very quiet and you almost have to watch for the bed to move to know it is running.Assembly of the bed was not too bad; but the bed is heavy and requires some strength to move around into position. Pushing a drive shaft to engage a spring held joint required considerable strength. In general the assembly instructions are good and appear to be written by an English speaking author instead of Google translate. When I had the bed together and tried it, there was a problem, when raising the entire bed level, the foot legs went down while the head legs went up! The foot end and head rail end look exactly the same, they are not marked foot or head. I thought I must have them backwards, so I switched them but got the same result. I finally figured out that there were two motor input shaft connectors on each bed end. One of the shaft connectors is covered up with a plastic cover so I missed the fact that there were two. I moved the motor drive shaft to the second input shaft connector of the foot end, and everything worked correctly! I went back to the assembly instructions, and yes, it does mention a top and bottom drive input - it just wasn't obvious to me what they were talking about until I finally flipped up the plastic cover and saw the second one. This particular bed package came with half bed rails. These were manufactured by another party - not the bed manufacturer. The rails were not the right size to attach to the bed frame of this bed. I spent a lot of time trying reading the instructions over and again when I finally came to the conclusion that these rails were not designed to fit this bed. I had already cut up the shipping box and the thought of the time and effort required to return them and get the right product was not appealing. I ended up making serious modifications to get them to fit. I used a half inch drill, metal rasp and large hammer to beat it into a fit! Because of this, the total time to install the first rail was about three hours, about one hour for the second. To be fair, if I had the correct size of bed rails they would have attached in just a few minutes.Even when finally firmly attached to the bed frame, these rails are loose. Top of the rail will wiggle back and forth an inch and a half or so. It seems serviceable - but everyone who took hold of it commented on how loose the rail is.Also, take a good look at the advertising photo showing the bed with the rail installed. Notice when in the raised position the rail only comes a couple of inches above the mattress; I was expecting it to be a bit higher. Perhaps the spring mattress I ordered is a bit thicker than the standard mattress and accounts for the rail seeming short.
